How importing your data works
Connecting your accounts can feel like a big step. This page explains, in plain language, how the import process works and what actually happens behind the scenes.
Step 1 — You choose what to connect
Cash Copilot never connects to anything automatically. You decide if, when, and what you want to import.
You can start using the app without importing anything, or connect accounts gradually over time.
Step 2 — Read-only access
When you connect an account, Cash Copilot uses read-only access. This means:
- We can see transaction data
- We cannot move money
- We cannot make changes
- We cannot initiate payments
Think of it like looking at a statement — not controlling the account.
Step 3 — We look for patterns, not perfection
The goal of importing data is not to track every cent. Cash Copilot looks for patterns:
- Regular income
- Fixed obligations
- Expenses that tend to fluctuate
This helps us give you a calm, conservative picture of what feels safe to spend.
Step 4 — Nothing is locked in
Imported data is not a commitment.
You can:
- Disconnect accounts at any time
- Delete imported data
- Adjust or ignore suggestions
Cash Copilot is a companion, not a controller.
Your privacy comes first
Imported data is used only to provide the service. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared for marketing purposes.
Optional analytics are disabled by default and only enabled with your consent.
If you’re not ready yet
That’s completely fine.
You can explore the app, understand how it works, and decide later whether importing data feels right for you.
Cash Copilot is designed to reduce stress — not add to it.
